SIGHTS AND LANDMARKS
The landmark in Prenzlauer Berg, locals refer to the district as Prenzlberg, is the more than 100 year old
water tower. It is the oldest water tower in Berlin and is close to the Kollwitzplatz. From here visitors has a unique view towards the Berlin TV tower.
The
Mauerpark is just a brief walk away. Today where previously once the Berlin Wall separated east and west of the city a green belt has been established and today is a popular meeting point. Every Sunday in the amphitheatre karaoke events are staged.

Schönhauser Allee Arcades. Again, here the focus is fashion though tech fans will also find a lot on offer. The Kastanienallee is a road off Schönhauser Allee and has the reputation of being a hip scene. With its numerous designer shops, boutiques but also high-quality second-hand shops it is frequently described as the “creative centre” of Prenzlauer Berg. PARKS
Despite the central location of our furnished apartments in Prenzlauer Berg you are still able to find extensive green spaces and parks which invite you to dwell and relax. The Volkspark Prenzlauer Berg is one of the largest parks in this district. On 29 hectares unadulterated park ground meets art. On specially laid out culture pathways you can enjoy six unique sculpture works and at the same time stroll through nature in the midst of the capital. In the listed
Ernst-Thälmann-Park west of the Volksparks visitors can unwind over an area of 16 hectares. At the park entrance leading in from Greifswalder Straße there is an impressive 13 metre high memorial in honour of Ernst Thälmann has been erected. Each Sunday the Mauerpark lures visitor with its
weekly flea market. Here private traders offer well-preserved pieces as well as commercial traders with handmade individual own creations.
GASTRONOMY
Prenzlauer Berg is known for its culinary diversity. From traditional German food to Spanish tapas and all the way to Asian cuisine nearly everything can be found here. Restaurant Sauvage. Since 2011 this place has been preparing food in accordance with paleo principles. The menu is diverse and offers a large range of dishes which are completely wheat-free, gluten-free and free of milk products and plant-based oils.
RECREATION AND SPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS
On a free day the Kulturbrauerei in Prenzlauer Berg lures as a regular venue for markets and open air events. Spread across 20 buildings and six connected courtyards you will find restaurants, a theatre and even a cinema. One is still able to recognise that this place was once used as a brewery which gives the place its unique ambience.
The
Kulturbrauerei is also a popular place with night revellers. Today a number of live concerts are staged in the former boiler¬ and machine house.
