SIGHTS AND LANDMARKS

The centre of Berlin Mitte is the Alexanderplatz which is one of the most visited places with its famous world clock and at the same time one most well known sights across the globe. From here it is just a brief walk to a number of other famous landmarks in the capital city. One of the most important is the Brandenburg Gate which until the fall of the Berlin wall was the border between East and West Berlin and today is particularly a symbol for Germany’s reunification.
A visit of Checkpoint Charlie is also worth including in travel plans. The former military control post was one of the most famous border crossings in Berlin. In the adjacent Wall Museum there are a number of historical artefacts from this era. Due to its striking façade the Berlin City Hall has also become one of the city’s most prominent landmarks. The red brick façade eventually bestowed the name “Red City Hall” on the building and many visitors are fascinated by the multiple wings with three courtyards. The Berlin City Palace on the Spree Island has an equally impressive building history and architecture enthusiasts will be enthralled.
Our furnished apartments in Berlin Mitte are in a perfect central location and are in one of the most sought after districts in the city.

CULTURAL OFFERINGS

Whilst you temporarily live in our apartments in Berlin Mitte benefit from the cultural diversity of this district. Every visitor is sure to find something matching their interests. There are alone five globally renowned museum buildings on the Museum Island which since 1999 is a UNESCO World Heritage. Here one can find the Alte Museum (Old Museum) as well as the Neue Museum (New Museum), Pergamon Museum, the Bode Museum and the Alte Nationalgalerie (Old National Gallery).
In the Berlin State Library, one of the largest academic university libraries in Germany, there are around 11 million books available. It is subdivided into the historical research library and the research library of Modern Age and thanks to its great breadth it is an important centre for national and international literature supply.
In the evening one should visit the Gendarmenmarkt with concert house. The Gendarmenmarkt is regarded as one of the nicest spots in Berlin. Here the German and French Cathedral together form with the Concert House a harmonious picture and invite one to linger during the Christmas period. To finish off the day in perfect style visit one of the numerous events staged in the Concert House.
