which until the fall of the Berlin wall was the border between East and West Berlin and today is particularly a symbol for Germany’s reunification.
A visit of Checkpoint Charlie
is also worth including in travel plans. The former military control post was one of the most famous border crossings in Berlin. In the adjacent Wall Museum there are a number of historical artefacts from this era. Due to its striking façade the Berlin City Hall has also become one of the city’s most prominent landmarks. The red brick façade eventually bestowed the name “Red City Hall”
